Where is Jenn Querying Today?

I spoke on my other blog, Reality Mom, about how I’ll be able to work on more freelance projects when my children return to school on September 2nd. This will be the first year all three of them will be attending a full day of school, so this opens a new door of opportunity for this freelance writer. Planning ahead will help keep things steady.

Here are some of the sites I’ll be visiting today to find work:

· Journalism Jobs
· Media Bistro
· AbsoluteWrite.com’s Paying Markets Forum
· CraigsList.org

I’m going to be perusing my handy-dandy copy of Writer’s Market, as well. There are a number of ideas in my writer’s notebook I want to formulate queries for and find markets for. If I can’t find markets in there, I’m going to do keyword searches on google. I also do topic and rate searches, too, and come up with some very good results.

Are you facing a new writing schedule when the school year starts? If school has already started, what changes have you made to your summer work schedule? Do you find yourself working more, less, or the same amount when school starts?

I don't think I want to think about that.

I'll be changing up my sleep schedule. Massively. So that I sleep from 5PM-3AM. And I'll still be writing just as much-I have to, I have deadlines and stuff-but it'll be a lot more difficult to manage that once school starts.

'Cause I'm still stuck in it -.-

Thank you for adding your thoughts to this post! It's such a challenge managing it all - I forgot to mention that I'm doing all of this while attending college. It's a lot to juggle, but it's not impossible.

What are you taking in college?

Yeah, you got me curious.

I'm really excited right now. Seriously. I don't know why, the convention is over. But I'm hyper. Even though I shouldn't be.

I honestly don't know how I'm going to catch up after the con, but it was so worth it.

I'm going for my BA in English. I waited WAY too long after high school graduation, but better late than never. I'm tired of seeing jobs I really-really want requiring the degree I don't have. So, here I am!
