Thoughts About Writer's Notebooks
July 25th 2008 18:54
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been carrying a small notebook or notepad around with me. I remember how excited I used to get when it came time to buy school supplies because the assignment book sized notebooks were perfect. They fit perfectly in my purse, and I could write very small.
Now, I use steno books or reporter pads. I love The Pocket Sized Writer’s Companion, as well. I keep a notebook in my glove compartment, in my purse, in my backpack, on my desk, on my nightstand, and in my temporary work area (I’m set up in the living room for the time being).
Do you carry small notebooks around with you? What kinds of things do you write down? I write down what I see, thoughts provoked by what I see, things I want to remember, information about people I meet, things to do, and thoughts about experiences. It’s very random, but I know what I mean when I read through everything.
What are your thoughts about carrying a writer’s notebook?
