Take Charge!
May 15th 2008 15:23
The beginning of my writing career was a terrifying one. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, how to write a query letter, or what type of writing suited me best. What was my niche? What was my passion? What was my drive?
It took years to figure this out as I waded through the trenches from one project to the next. What was wrong with this picture? I was writing, right? So, why did I feel like I was in the trenches?
I didn't take charge of my writing career. It was my business, my writing, and my goals . . . no one else's. As soon as I grounded myself with this reality, the work started flowing in, confidence built, and I was achieving goals I felt good about.
What is it that YOU want to do with your writing career? Is fear holding you back as it did with me? Are other factors holding you back? What changes do you need to make in order to take charge of your writing career?
