Some Time Management Tips
July 16th 2008 14:43
The question of time management has been coming up quite a bit lately, so I decided to tough on this topic a bit today. We have discussed this in the past, but it is worth bringing up once again. Here are some strategies I use during my work day:
1: Start with the smallest tasks first (by small, I mean either the shortest of the least time consuming).
2: Take a brief break as soon as the small tasks are complete.
3: Query leads found on forums, blogs, newsletters, and sites.
4: Start (and hopefully finish) larger projects.
5: Spend no more than one hour on email.
If a running list of pressing tasks is not made at the beginning of each work day, I find managing time to be very difficult. I generally can tell what projects will take more than one day, so I spread it out accoordingly.3: Query leads found on forums, blogs, newsletters, and sites.
4: Start (and hopefully finish) larger projects.
5: Spend no more than one hour on email.
This is just a very basic overview and, keep in mind, my plans might work for you or they may not. How do you plan your work day?
