Reconnection: [Hand]Writer Within
May 8th 2008 13:23
Do you need to reconnect with your inner [hand]writer? I ask this because, as a writer, I tend to do the majority of my writing on the screen. However, this past month I have been intoducing pen to paper quite often:
* paper journal writing
* month mapping
* daily to-do lists
* notes
* drafts
* manuscripts
It's odd because, when I first decided I wanted to be a writer I filled notebook after notebook with research material, poetry, journal entries, and creative writing. These days, though, that writer within me has seemed to have slipped through the cracks. That is my true identity as a writer, though . . . pen in hand, rather than keyboard at desk.
Do you need to reconnect with your [hand]writer within? Did you start writing through use of a typewriter or computer, rather than actual act of writing with paper and a writing instrument?
