Freelance Tips - by Jenn Hollowell

Most of the information presented here is based on my experience, on the spot findings, and progress in my own freelance writing career.

Producity = Accomplishments = Success

Keeping up with productivity amid many other tasks is always difficult for any freelance writer, author, or work at home professional. How do we solve these problems? The solution to the problem can, sometimes, be just as complex as the problem itself. Here are some tips for keeping your productivity up on days that want to drag you down:

1. Simplify your to do list: create a to-do list of the top ten things needing your immediate attention. Once they’re checked off, create another short list. As things are checked off throughout the day and more lists are created, you’ll feel invigorated by your productivity and accomplishments.
2. Delegate whenever possible: if household chores and errands are getting in the way of the productivity your work day needs to hold, delegate. Like a manager delegates to their subordinates, pass on some of these task so they’re still completed in a timely manner. If this is not possible, try rescheduling for another day.
3. Learn to say no: the power of no is a very hard thing for most to grasp, particularly those who work for themselves. Don’t be afraid to say no when someone asks you for a favor if it just isn’t possible. The last thing you need happening is your business being put into jeopardy because you’ve been helping others have a better day … are they doing the same for you?

These are just a few tips to help you increase your productivity. Playing some upbeat music throughout the day, ensuring you’re getting enough sleep, and eating healthy are also ways to keep your day balanced and your work top notch.

What do you do to keep yourself productive throughout the day? Do you have some additional tips you would like to share with readers?
