Offline

As I mentioned over on Writing Words, I have moved house and have had broadband issues ever since.
As I have accidentally stumbled several steps up the career ladder and am in charge of an important division of our new project at the day job, being offline does not have any professional consequences.
But let's just suppose I was relying on my freelance career for my income. As a freelancer I would need to be online during office hours. If I already had regular clients, many of them would contact me via e-mail or instant messenger. If I were still working on building a loyal client base, I'd need the internet for job hunting. Being offline would seriously injure my business.
In my last post I mentioned that I would like to keep pursuing my freelance ambitions. Needless to say, I haven't done any freelance work since I've moved. I hope that will change soon.
