When I first started freelnacing, I admit I was peering through rose colored glasses. I didn't know:
What stage of your writing career are you in? Did you start off with rose colored glasses, as well?
1: About invoicing issues ....
2: That employers (clients, editors, people, however you would like to refer to them) would try to get away with no paying writers....
3: About querying and how often it needed to occur in order to maintain a sustainable income ...
4: How important networking is and maintaining professionalism at all times ....
5: That there are days when people will not take you seriously and throw many other expectations on your plate ....
That's right, I had a LOT to learn. Ever since, though, I've been working really hard at keeping it real. I have to keep myself grounded and, to be honest, that is difficult on some days.2: That employers (clients, editors, people, however you would like to refer to them) would try to get away with no paying writers....
