Falling Behind

You've fallen behind on your assignments, your goals, and your queries...now what? What's the first step to digging yourself out of the "what am I going to do, I'm so far behind," rut?
1: Start small. Make a list of everything that you're behind on (if it's just one thing, then don't bother with a list) and corresponding dates.
2: Prioritize your list by due date.
3: Work on one assignment or project at a time until you're able to handle juggling more at one time again.
4: Communicate the delays and other issues to your editors and clients.
5: Make a better time management plan for your next round of assignments

This strategy works best for freelance writers who produce daily content, handle steady gigs (those that produce several assignments per week or month), and juggle numerous assignments or projects at one time.
There is no doubt that a busy freelance writer can soon develop into an overwhelmed and behind freelance writer. That is one of the many blips of this career, but it is possible to manage.
What works best for you? How do you handle numerous projects or assignments? Do you have a different strategy that works when you have fallen behind?
