Never Stop Learning
The motto "Learn it, Live it, Write it," has been part of my career for quite some time. I started thinking in this way as soon as I realized that, in this business, you're going to learn something new everyday. This can happen through use of books, web sites, conversations, and so on.
What did I learn today? I learned that, even though I feel alone in my work-related challenges, I am not.
I try to learn something new, or expand upon something I've learned about on a daily basis. I feel that, if I'm an everyday learning, then I'm benefitting myself and my career. New books, magazines, articles, web sites, blogs, and message boards are popping up all over the place. Do I have time to read them all?
Of course not. I do, however, know they exist so when it comes time to learn something new . . . I can.
