Break the Block: Tip #11
September 12th 2008 14:19
Follow this prompt to help break or prevent writer’s block. Use your word processor, your blog, or handwrite this out. Remember that whatever works best for you will yield the best results.
How do you feel right at this moment? Describe these feelings in 150 words. Do these feelings carry a positive or a negative connotation? Describe which one and why in 150 words. Do you want to change how you feel right at this moment? Why or why not? (50 words or more) If so, how would you change how you’re feeling right at this moment? Describe this in 100 words.
If you feel you can write more than what is outlined here, feel free to do so. If you feel the need to write less, consider writing about why you wish to do so in order to keep your pen moving and your mind working.

Seriously.
Why do you think that is?

Constantly attending seminars, workshops, reading self-help books about writers block, motivations, going on writers camps and belonging to several writing groups and organisations, going to every writers festival and book launch looking for help.
At my writing school there's women that have been there for like 8 years!
Its not exclusive to women, but I think most would agree with me, its not the first time I've talked about it.
Is it because women tend to take it more seriously and bare their soles?, or are men just go-getter's, buy-now, ask questions later types.
Its got nothing to do with sex - but when I see people like this I just feel like saying - 'Just go write already! If you haven't found out how to do it yet - maybe its not for you!'
lol
Anyway, I like your blog, everyone needs help with writing, don't get me wrong, but its just something I think about...

Feminists, lesbians, ultra political correct nutcases...
LOL
But, yeah, either way, it affects everyone I'm sure. Maybe its all here in Melbourne, that's all. I constantly hear how its so much harder for female writers to find work and most of the teachers at school were women, and they helped in- grain that attitude. I think its a loser attitude and completely wrong.
One of the head managers at our magazine company is only 23 and she looks after at least 3 magazines!
That just one example.
Anyway, I'm glad you're a realist....

That's a GREAT accomplishment for her at that age - I'm very impressed. When I was 23, I stuck in retail management and wasn't close being that type of a professional business woman. There are still days now when I don't feel I've earned that title! (It draws back to that self-doubted-ness writers face, I suppose.)
I hope you continue reading future blog posts!
